Professional AV boardroom

What We Do — Audio Visual

AV that works.
Every single time.

Commercial AV installation across New Zealand & Australia

We design and install professional audio visual systems that perform without fail — in boardrooms, meeting rooms, classrooms, hospitality venues and large-scale spaces across New Zealand and Australia.

The Powercoms Approach

Designed for the way your team actually works.

Most AV systems fail at the worst possible moment — in front of your most important clients. That's not a technology problem. It's a design and installation problem.

We start by understanding how your space is used, who uses it, and what matters most. Then we specify, install and commission a system that's intuitive to operate and built to last, without the complexity or the callbacks.

Every Powercoms AV installation comes with thorough testing, staff familiarisation and ongoing support as standard.

What We Install

Complete AV solutions,
built to spec.

Boardroom & Meeting Rooms

Integrated displays, video conferencing, wireless presentation and room control. Systems that work properly whether your team is in the room or joining remotely.

Large Format Displays

Commercial-grade screens, video walls and LED installations specified for brightness, resolution and longevity. Not residential TVs on mounts — proper display infrastructure.

Commercial Audio

Background music, paging, conferencing and speech reinforcement systems designed for clarity and coverage. From single zones to complex multi-area installs.

Control & Automation

One-touch room control that manages AV, lighting and blinds from a single panel or tablet. Simple for users, smart behind the scenes.

Video Conferencing

Microsoft Teams, Zoom and platform-agnostic room systems installed and certified. Camera, audio and display optimised for how remote meetings actually work.

Hospitality & Venue AV

Bars, restaurants, event spaces and hotels. AV that creates the right atmosphere, holds up under heavy use and is manageable by non-technical staff.

We don't just

Common Questions

Questions people ask us

Straight answers from Pete Mason, Powercoms

How much does a commercial AV system cost?

There is no single answer, but here is a realistic guide. A meeting room with a display, conferencing bar and cabling typically starts from $8,000 to $15,000 installed. A full boardroom with video conferencing, proper acoustics and control systems is more like $25,000 to $80,000. Most clients come in with a bigger requirement than their budget covers. We will tell you straight what is achievable and where the compromises sit. Better to know that upfront than halfway through.

What is the difference between a Teams Room and a Zoom Room?

Same idea, different platforms. A Teams Room is purpose-built hardware certified to run Microsoft Teams. A Zoom Room does the same for Zoom. Either way the room has its own camera, microphone and display that joins calls with one button press, without needing anyone's personal laptop. The right choice is usually whichever platform your team already uses. We install and support both.

Peter Mason, Powercoms

How long does an AV installation take?

A single meeting room is usually done in a day or two once gear is on site. Multi-room rollouts are scoped with a proper programme so your fit-out timeline is not a surprise. The biggest variable is equipment lead times, which we factor in at the design stage. If you have got a deadline, tell us early. We plan around it.

Peter Mason, Powercoms

Can you integrate with our existing systems?

Usually yes, but we check first. Most of what we install works alongside Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, room booking systems and building platforms. The key is knowing what you already have before we specify anything. Bolting gear together that was never designed to work as one is how you end up with a system only one person knows how to use. We avoid that.
